This Privacy Policy explains what information Kwabosal collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using Kwabosal, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information We Collect
When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and password (handled securely through Firebase Authentication — we never see or store your raw password). If you list a business, we also collect the business details you provide: business name, description, category, address, phone and WhatsApp numbers, website, years in business, and any photos you upload.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use this information to operate the directory: displaying your business listing to people searching Kwabosal, letting customers contact you by phone or WhatsApp, powering location-based search (like "within 15 miles"), and communicating with you about your account.
3. What's Public vs. Private
Once a business listing is approved, its name, description, category, address/city, phone, WhatsApp number, website, and photos are public and searchable by anyone visiting Kwabosal — that's the whole point of the directory. Your login email and password are never displayed publicly.
4. Third-Party Services We Use
We rely on Google Firebase for authentication, our database, and photo storage, and on Zippopotam.us, a free public postal-code lookup service, to convert a business's ZIP code into an approximate map location for "near me" search — only the ZIP code itself is sent to that service, not your name or any other personal information.
5. Data Retention & Deletion
We keep your account and listing information for as long as your account is active. You can edit or remove most information yourself from your dashboard at any time, or contact us to request full account deletion.
6. Children's Privacy
Kwabosal is intended for business owners and adults searching for services. It is not directed at children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
7. Security
We use industry-standard tools (Firebase Authentication and Google Cloud infrastructure) to protect your information, but no online service can guarantee perfect security. Please use a strong, unique password.
8. Your Choices
You can review and update your account and business information at any time from your dashboard. If you'd like a copy of your data or want your account permanently deleted, contact us.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as Kwabosal grows. We'll post any changes here with a new "last updated" date.
